Odisha: Headmaster beaten up, tonsured for misbehaving with girl students

Baripada: Tension ran high on premises of a state-run upper primary school here in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district after the locals thrashed a school headmaster and tonsured him for allegedly misbehaving with three minor girl students.

The incident was reported from the Nuhamalia upper primary school in Gadia panchayat under Morada block in Mayurbhanj district.

The accused headmaster of the state-run upper primary school identified as Anangdev Tipiria was beaten up without mercy by the villagers after the victims brought a complaint against him.

According to reports, Tipiria had been continuously misbehaving with three Class-7 girl students at the school. After the victims brought it to notice of their parents, the latter raised the issue with the school managing committee for justice to their children three days ago.

However, the school authorities appeared silent on the issue. In view of the allegation against him, the school headmaster remained off the duty under health ground. He asked another woman teacher to manage his duty in his absence at the school.

Expressing resentment over the delay by the school managing committee in taking action against the accused headmaster, the parents and locals attacked Tipiria while he was with his family on the school premises.

The irate locals thrashed him and half-tonsured his head for misdeed to their children.
