Odisha KMBM inter school football: Ramakrushna, Tapovan in semis

Bhubaneswar, Sept 11:

Ramakrushna Sikhya Kendra and Tapovan High School completed the semi-final line-up with impressive win in the last two quarterfinals of the 25th Kalinga Marine-Bibekananda Memorial (KMBM) Inter-School Football Tournament in Odisha at Unit-VI Govt Boys’ High School ground here today.

Ramakrushna Sikhya Kendra beat Buxi Jagabandhu English Medium (BJEM) School by 2-0 goals while Tapovan High School stunned former champions by Sainik School with 4-2 goals.

After a barren first half, Dhyaneswar Murmu and Avinash Mohanta scored the two goals for Ramakrushna Sikhya Kendra in the 33rd and 49th minutes respectively.

Avinash was adjudged the man of the match.

Rajiv Tudu starred in the Tapovan win, scoring a brace. He struck in the 14th and 29th minutes to receive the prize as man of the match. Mohan Hansda opened the floodgates for Tapovan in the eighth minute, while his teammate Hindu Naik netted the third goal in the 25th minute.

The two goals for Sainik School were scored by Ashok Jena and Jitendra Murmu in the 18th and 44th minutes respectively.

In the semi-finals tomorrow, defending champions Kalinga Institute of Social Science (KISS) will meet Tapovan High School while Delhi Public School will take on Ramakrushna Sikhya Kendra.
