Man kills drunkard son with help of younger son, buries body in backyard

Athagarh: In a shocking incident, a man allegedly killed his  28-year-old drunkard son with the help of his younger son at Gobara village under Gurudijhatia Tehsil here in Cuttack district. After murdering him, the two buried his body in the backyard of their house.

Reportedly, while the murder took place on Sunday, his body was recovered by police this morning. Meanwhile, the cops arrested accused father Narendra Dehury while his younger son is absconding.

Sources said 28-year-old Kunia was a habitual drunkard and had been creating nuisance in the house after consuming liquor and ganja almost everyday. Disgusted with this, his wife had left him and gone to her parents’ house a year ago. With no change in Kunia’s attitude, father Narendra and his younger son Titua hatched a plan to kill him. On Sunday, the duo  killed Kunia with axe and stick and later buried his body in the backyard to eliminate evidence.

Since the youth was missing for a couple of days, locals being suspicious informed the police about it. Following investigation, the Gurudijhatia police arrested the accused father last evening. During interrogation, he confessed to his crime.

Today, post-mortem of the body will be conducted and a scientific team will visit the spot for investigation. The arrested accused will be produced before court today, sources added.
