The three leaders were produced before the court earlier in the day after being medically examined as the term of their six day CBI remand ended today.

The trio was arrested by the CBI on November 4 for their alleged links with ponzi firm Nabadiganta Capital Services.
During its investigation, the CBI had found that they were active directors of the ponzi firm and had charged them for criminal conspiracy, cheating and diversion of funds.

CBI, during its interrogation of the three politicians had come to know that they were active directors of Nabadiganta Capital Services, had operated the firm’s bank accounts, conducted meetings of the company, and adopted resolutions at the company’s meetings and drawn money from the company’s bank account through self cheques.

The CBI has come to know during its investigation that the ponzi firm had operated through 40 bank accounts, the sources added.

Chairman cum Managing director (CMD) of the company Anjan Kumar Baliarsingh and two directors — Kartikeya Parida and Pradeep Patnaik — were arrested Oct 26. They are in jail after a special CBI court rejected their bail plea Nov 1.

Around Rs 8 crores of money collected through public deposits has been embezzled by the directors of the company, according to sources in the CBI.
