Odisha reels under intense heat wave; Talcher hottest at 43.7

Normal life was disrupted in Odisha as temperature went up further in almost all places of the state forcing people to stay indoors.

Heat wave

While Talcher recorded the highest temperature of the day in the state at 43.5 degree Celsius, temperature remained at 40 degrees and above in 13 other places. They were: Baleswar (41.6), Chandbali (40.2), Bhubaneswar (40.7), Angul (42.7), Jharsuguda (42), Sambalpur (41.1), Sundargarh (40.5), Hirakud (41.8), Bhawanipatna (41.2), Bolangir (42) , Titilagarh (40,5), Malkangiri (40.6) and Sonepur (40.4).

Besides, temperature remained close to 40 degrees in Cuttack (39.4), Baripada (39.6), Keonjhar (39.2) and Phulbani (39,5).

A Met office release this evening said despite rain or thundershower at one or two places in coastal and interior Odisha for a week till April 28, there would be no change in weather during the period.
