Odisha reports 573 new COVID-19 cases; Khordha single-day tally nears 100

Bhubaneswar:  The COVID-19 tally in Odisha mounted to 3,43,268 as 573 more people tested positive for the infection, the highest single-day rise this year, informed Health Department sources.

Khordha recorded the highest spike of 96 cases followed by Sundargarh (80) and Nuapada (60).

Of the total fresh cases detected from 28 districts, 337 are quarantine cases while remaining 236 are local contact cases. Contact tracing and follow-up action is underway, said Information and Public Relation (I & PR ) Department.

In the last 24 hours, 28,109  samples were tested in the state. With the fresh cases, the number of total active cases further surged to 3,358.

So far 3,37,935 patients have recovered from the disease in the state.
