Odisha Teacher held for defrauding job aspirant of lakhs of rupees

Lanjigarh: The Kalahandi District Police has arrested a Teacher on charges of defrauding a job aspirant of lakhs of rupees.

Kalahandi SP Saravana Vivek M today informed that the Teacher, Manoranjan Nanda who works at Shosapadar School under Lanjigarh block of the district has been held after he confessed to his involvement in the job fraud.

A resident of the district lodged a complaint at Bhawanipatna Town Police Station accusing Nanda of taking money from the complainant on the pretext of providing a Teacher job at Kendriya Vidyalaya. During the last three years Nanda took a total of Rs 7.06 lakh in installments from the complainant, the SP stated.

Following his detention, the Teacher revealed to the police during questioning that he prepared fake appointment letters in the name of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan or the Centre for Training and Council Centre and provided them to job aspirants. Nanda even prepared fake forwarding letter with the signature of the Kalahandi Collector to the win the trust of his victims.

The SP appealed to people to come forward if they have similar allegations against Nanda. Hence, the police will be able to find out how many have fallen victims to the job fraud.

After registering a case at the Bhawanipatna Town Police Station, the police arrested Nanda and forwarded him to the court.
