While the state unit Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today announced to organise a day-long rally in 147 constituencies across Odisha on Oct 2 to highlight the failures of the state government, the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) held a preparatory meeting today.

We are going to organise a satyagrah (nonviolent resistance) on Oct 2 coinciding with Gandhi Jayanti in 147 constituencies across the state to highlight the failures of the state government, BJP state political affairs committee said.

On the other hand, the ruling BJD today held a preparatory meeting for the Jan Sampark (people’s connect) yatra from Oct 2 to Oct 11 at the party headquarters here where the party supremo Naveen Patnaik and 121 observers attended the meeting.
