Odisha: Two more COVID hospitals come up in Berhampur

Bhubaneswar: Stepping up the fight against COVID-19, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today inaugurated two more COVID Hospitals with ICU facility in Berhampur.

Patnaik through video conference inaugurated the two hospitals with 150 bed strength and 24 ICU beds each with ventilators. One COVID hospital has come up at Kanishi in Berhampur while another one is at Pediatric ward of MKCG Hospital.

Hoping that the two COVID hospitals will strengthen the fight against COVID-19 in Ganjam district, the Chief Minister said these two healthcare institutions will provide critical care for patients from the district within the district itself.

“My Government will leave no stone unturned in fighting this pandemic and saving lives of our people,” the Chief Minister said.

He added the Ganjam district is fighting the pandemic very well due to dedication and sacrifice of COVID warriors and cooperation and support from the people of the district.

More than 85 percent of rural Ganjam is in green zone and the recovery rate in Ganjam is much higher than the national average, he informed adding that there has been a downward trend in positive cases rate.

He appealed the people to use mask, follow social distance norms and other Government regulations.

Also he urged the people to completely avoid crowded places and not to come out if not required.
