VSSUT sealed for 7 days as teacher tests COVID positive

Sambalpur: The Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT) at Burla in Odisha’s Sambalpur district has been sealed for 7 days after a woman teacher of the educational institution tested positive for COVID-19, said vice-chancellor Atal Choudhury.

The 52-year-old woman teacher’s husband died of the disease yesterday. He was a senior official of NALCO and undergoing treatment at VIMSAR in Burla.

The district administration and VSSUT authorities have decided to seal the campus for seven days for its sanitisation. The campus has been declared as a ‘No Entry Zone’, the vice-chancellor said.

All staffers of the Civil Engineering Department of VSSUT have been placed under home quarantine.
