Odisha woman buries newborn boy after delivery, body recovered

Udala: In a shocking incident, a woman reportedly buried a newborn boy after delivering the baby at Dhipasahi village under Sarat police limits in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district.

According to reports, one Masuri Singh delivered a baby boy during his visit to her father’s house on June 20 night and buried him alive in a cow dung pit.

Hindu Singh, the woman’s husband who works in Kerala, returned home on June 21 and went to his in-laws’ house to meet his wife, during which he came to know about the incident from locals.

“I had gone to attend nature’s call around 4 am on Wednesday. In the meantime, I delivered a baby. Unable to find a way to carry the newborn to house, I buried the baby in cow dung pit,” said Masuri.

On being informed, police reached the village and recovered the body. Investigation into the matter is underway.
