Odisha’s SOA Varsity students join unity walk on Sardar Patel anniversary

Nearly 700 students of the SOA University of Odisha took part in a walk to mark the Rashtriya Ekta Divas program in the capital city today to celebrate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

The unity walk was flagged off in the morning by hockey Olympian and MP Dilip Tirkey in the presence of a host of SOA University professors and government officials at the Master Canteen square in the capital city.

The students then congregated at the Bharat Scouts and Guides office, about 3 km from Master Canteen, where they took the National Unity Pledge.

Besides Tirkey, Prof PK Sahoo, dean of ITER, SOA University’s faculty of engineering, Dr Manas Kumar Mallick, director (Admission), Dr JC Jena, dean (Students’ Welfare), senior government officials of the Higher Education department, officials of the NSS and Scouts and Guides, Dr Jyoti Ranjan Das, associate professor of the University and Rusi Patnaik, director of Voice of SOA Community, the community radio station of SOA University were present on the occasion.
