Omicron tally crosses 100-mark in Odisha with 28 more fresh cases

Bhubaneswar: The Omicron tally crossed 100-mark in Odisha with 28 more fresh cases of the new COVID-19 variant that is said to be highly transmissible than Delta strain.

As many as 28 more cases were confirmed in Odisha taking the tally to 103, informed Institute of Life Sciences (ILS) to the State Health & Family Welfare Department today.

Two days ago, 14 more persons were found infected with Omicron variant of COVID-19.

On December 21, 2021, Odisha had reported two Omicron cases for the first time. Since the, daily COVID cases are on rise in the State.

The State has registered only one death due to Omicron so far.
