The meeting held under the chairmanship of Puri King Dibyasingh Deb discussed various issues pertaining to the 12th century shrine, but the repair of the Jagamohana topped the agenda.

A decision was taken at the meeting to start repair work on the exterior of the beherana dwara within the next one week while the repair of the Jagamohana would be taken up after the month of Kartik, sources privy to the deliberations said.

Besides, the meeting also decided to construct 48 houses for temple servitors in the premises of Gopal Teertha mutt in the pilgrim town. In addition to this, model schools will also come up in Puri for the children of the servitors.

While the SJTA was mulling to sell some of the land of Lord Jagannath to augment its corpus fund, the committee today decided to dispose of 7 acres of land near Chhanaghar in Jatni to Indian Oil Corporation at Rs 1.5 crore per acre.

Among others, temple administrator Suresh Mohapatra, Superintending Archaeologist and Puri SP were present in the meeting.
