Bhubaneswar: Bidya Bharati, wife of deceased Paralakhemundi Assistant Conservator of Forest (ACF) Soumya Ranjan Mohapatra, underwent lie detector test at the State Forensic Science Laboratory (SFSL) here, today.
She reached the SFSL with his father for the polygraph test.
The Odisha Crime Branch, which is probing into the case of the ACF’s death, had recently conducted the lie detector test of Paralakhemundi Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Sangram Keshari Behera and cook Manmath Kumbha, against whom the deceased’s family members have filed a police complaint alleging that Bidya Bharati, the DFO and the cook are involved in murdering him.
Around 100 questions were asked to Behera during the three-hour lie detector test, sources said.
As there was mismatch in the statements of the DFO and the cook recorded by the police and the Crime Branch during questioning, the duo underwent the lie detector test, sources added.
The Paralakhemundi ACF was found in a critical condition with burn injuries at his official residence on July 12 and died the next day at a private hospital in Cuttack.
