[Watch] Confessional video of Pari murder case accused surfaces

Nayagarh: In a major development in Pari murder case, a video of the accused, a minor,  confessing to his crime has surfaced.

In the video, the accused can be seen confessing before a cop that he had attempted to rape the minor girl. However, he later revealed that though he strangled Pari to death but could not rape her. He admitted that he was alone in the house during the time.

The accused further said, “After killing her, I put the body in a sack and later dumped it near a pond. Later, I again went to pond to throw his leggings in the waterbody to eliminate evidence.”

“I repented after committing the murder. Pari’s mother had come to our house and asked me if I have seen her daughter but I refused. I denied seeing Pari when my mother asked me about her too,” he confessed .

Earlier on December 22, SIT Chief Arun Bothra, who was probing the Pari murder case, had revealed that accused Soroj Sethy had tried to rape the 5-year-old Pari of Jadupur village in Nayagarh district after strangulating her to death inside his house on July 14.

At a presser, he informed that Pari had gone to Saroj’s house, about 100 metre away from her house, at around 10.30 AM on July 14 to collect berries. On the fateful day, Saroj was alone in his house as his mother and sister had left for their offices. Finding her alone that day, Saroj took her to a room and removed her frock. Later, when he was about  to remove her leggings, she resisted and started to scream. As she opposed the act, Saroj strangulated her to death.
