Provide financial aid to Odisha artists, Anubhav urges Naveen

Bhubaneswar: Kendrapara MP Anubhav Mohanty has written to Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik urging the latter to provide ex gratia to the workers of Odisha Motions Pictures Technicians’ and Workers’ Association (OMPTWA) due to the lockdown for coronavirus outbreak.

Mentioning that around 700 workers of the association are facing financial hardship and unable to take care of basic needs of their families, Mohanty requested the CM to provide ex gratia to them in the same pattern as followed in the case of unorganised workers of other sectors.

The MP urged Patnaik to place funds of Odisha Film Development Corporation (OFDC) to extend support to the workers and artists in the film industry as well as TV, theatre and Jatra organisations.
