Puri Srimandir Servitor murder case: 4 more accused arrested

Puri: Police today arrested four more accused in connection with the murder of Puri Srimandir servitor Krushna Chandra Pratihari.

The four accused identified as Srimandir Suara servitor Kunmun Suara, Hari Panda,  Tutu Mohapatra and Jagan were on the run ever since the murder of the senior servitor.

Puri SP informed that the four accused, all residents of Koraput, had fled to Satapada after the murder spent two nights on a boat in Chilika. Following raids, police nabbed them from Koraput while they were trying to escape from the state.

With this, total 10 persons have so far been arrested in connection with the incident.

Earlier yesterday, district SP P Kanwar Vishal Singh informed that six accused, including main conspirators Kalia Singhari and Dolagobinda Singhari, were arrested in the  murder case. Thee four other accused were Kalu Panigrahi, Muna Patra, Sandeep Jena and Baba Mohapatra. All the accused were produced before court later in the day.

The senior cop had also informed preliminary investigation suggests that Krushna Chandra Pratihari, who was the general secretary of Suar Mahasuar Nijog of the temple, was killed out of vendetta.

On March 16, Krushna Chandra Pratihari was shot at point-blank range by miscreants near Barabati area in Puri. The servitor was rushed to the hospital where a doctor declared him dead.
