Ranji Trophy: Odisha beat Triputa, secure consecutive wins

Cuttack: Odisha defeated Tripura by five wickets in a group state match of the Ranji Trophy at the DRIEMS Ground here to secure their second consecutive victory in the tournament.

Winning the toss and opting to bowl first, Odisha restricted Tripura to 122 in the first innings, thanks to seven wickets picked by Suryakant Pradhan.

In reply, Odisha scored 212 in the first innings getting a lead of 90. Captain Biplab Samantray was the top scorer with 89 runs.

Tripura, however, managed to deliver a good comeback with a score of 304 in the second innings and posted a target of 214 for Odisha.

Powered by Subhranshu Senapati’s 84 and Abhishek Raut’s 83 in the second innings, Odisha achieved the required runs in 63.2 overs.

Odisha had earlier won against Assam by 9 wickets.
