Rs 14.05 Crore sanctioned for development of Degree Colleges, Higher Secondary Schools

Rayagada: Odisha government today sanctioned and released Rs 14.05 crore for the improvement of Degree Colleges and Higher Secondary Schools in Rayagada under 5T transformation initiative, the 5T Secretary VK Pandian informed during his visit to the district for reviewing ongoing development projects.

Accordingly, all Higher Secondary Schools and Colleges will be transformed within six months.

Besides, the exemption of the land premium for land exchange with Railways for Maa Majhighariani shrine, the presiding deity of Rayagada, will be accorded approval soon. A detailed project report (DPR) for the development and beautification of the temple will be submitted in a month and the construction work will start within six months, the 5T Secretary said while briefing mediapersons here.

A source said that after reaching Rayagada town, the 5T Secretary visited Biju Patnaik Auditorium.

Later, the 5T Secretary went to the district headquarters hospital (DHH) in Rayagada and discussed with patients admitted to the health facility about the problems faced by them. He also discussed this with doctors of the DHH. 5T Secretary directed the officials concerned to expedite the development works of some hospitals which are underway under the Ama Hospital programme of 5T transformation.

The 5T Secretary also visited a multi-faceted and under-construction indoor stadium in the town.
