Sambalpur Varsity to unfurl giant Tricolour to mark R-Day tomorrow

Sambalpur: To mark the 73rd Republic Day to be observed tomorrow, Sambalpur University here will unfurl a giant Tricolour on premises of the educational institution.

A permanent flagpole built at a cost of about Rs 9.5 lakh has been installed at the university campus for hoisting of the National Flag measuring 100 feet. A concrete platform has also been constructed at Rs 8 lakh to support the flagpole. The initiative has jointly been taken by the university and a Rourkela-based private college.

Varsity authorities said arrangements have been made for observance of the day in adherence to COVID-19 guidelines.

Hoisting of the giant National Flag on Republic Day will definitely be a glorious moment for the institution, said university Vice-Chancellor Sanjeev Mittal.
