Savour the taste of Odisha in National capital

Bhubaneswar: Popular restaurant Odisha Hotel is opening its first ever outlet at Saket in New Delhi, allowing Delhiites and the NCR people to savour the authentic taste of Odisha. Food here will be served in bell metal (Kansa) utensils, the Odia way!

Owner of Odisha Hotel, Raj Swain, has high hopes and is expecting it to run well. “I am looking forward to this venture. I am hopeful and pretty sure of making it to the people’ heart through the amazing cuisine of our land,” he said.

The sumptuous Odia spread at the restaurant would include khasi mansha aloo, desi kukuda, chilika chingudi, chilika kankada, chingudi dalma and patra poda macha. “We will be serving dalma, mahura, ghata, nadia bara tarkari, kakharu fulla bhaja and badhi chura in veg,” he said.

He also is planning to introduce Odia pitha and mitha like manda pitha, kakera pitha, chakuli pitha, chena poda and rasogolla in the regular menu of the restaurant for Pravasi Odias and Delhi people.

Raj said the 52-seater restaurant will have a pleasing decor to give you a feel of Odisha in Delhi.  “All our chefs are from Odisha, so the taste of Odisha remains in every bite,” he said.

The outlet opening coincides with Odisha Hotel completing 17 years in restaurant business. “If the response is good, we may plan on opening outlets in Gurugram and Noida,” he added.

The first outlet was opened in 2000 at Saheed Nagar, serving people the best of Odisha. With time, they grew and opened outlets in other parts of the Odisha capital. The new year will see Odisha Hotel making its presence felt in Cuttack with an outlet at Mahtab Road.
