Sexual harassment slur: Odisha police arrest AYUSH Director

Bhubaneswar: Police arrested OAS officer Bibhu Prasad Sarangi, the Director of Directorate of AYUSH, Odisha, on charges of sexually harassing a woman employee, informed Commissionerate Police Commissioner Sudhansu Sarangi today.

Mahila Police arrested the senior official following a case was registered against him based on the complaint lodged by the victim, an employee of the same office.

In the complaint, the victim alleged that AYUSH Directorate chief was frequently sending her obscene videos and mentally harassing her.

He was allegedly pressuring the woman employee to have physical relationship with him.

Later, the victim approached the police as the Directorate of AYUSH, does not have a women’s cell to address workplace harassment.

Refuting the allegations, Sarangi filed a counter FIR against woman colleague claiming that no videos or messages containing obscene content had been sent by him.
