Strict security arrangements at Sri Mandir for New Year darshan

Puri, Jan 1:
Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and thousand others visited Sri Mandir at Puri to get blessings on the first day of the new year amid tight security arrangements.

The door of the temple was opened at 1:30 pm last night. Long queues of devotees lined up from the Singhadwar to get a glimpse of the three deities at the Ratna Singhasana.
The visitors were supposed to pass through three barricades from the main gate of the temple.

Around 50 platoons of police deployed in Puri in view of the heavy crowd of devotees visiting the Lord Jagannath Temple in Puri during New Year.
High level police officials, including six additional SPs, 18 DSPs are on duty to take stock of security arrangements in the holy town.

Tourists from all parts of the state and outside the state are coming for Darshan of Lord Jagannath at the beginning of New year and also enjoying  the sea beach in Puri.

Notably, last month there were a series train arson incident in Puri, although the alleged prime accused has been arrested the case is still under investigation by the National investigation Agency (NIA).
