Sundargarh ADM in Odisha Vigilance net over DA charges

Bhubaneswar: Vigilance sleuths today raided the office and houses of Sundargarh Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Biswajit Mohapatra on charges of amassing property disproportionate to his known sources of income.

On the strength of search warrants issued by Vigilance Special Judge, Bhubaneswar, separate teams of the anti-corruption wing conducted simultaneous raids at seven places associated with the senior Government official. The search drive was underway in Bhubaneswar, Sundargarh and Jagatsinghpur. Besides, his chamber at the district Collector’s office was also searched.

However, the exact amount of disproportionate assets that the Government official has possessed will be ascertained after completion of the raid.

Earlier on February 9, Vigilance arrested Rourkela Assistant Collector Manoranjan Nayak for allegedly possessing disproportionate assets.

The officials had raided multiple places, including his office and two residences in Rourkela, ancestral house in Jajpur and an apartment at Gothapatna in Bhubaneswar. Following the raid, Vigilance had unearthed assets worth Rs 2 crore in possession to Nayak.
