Swine flu toll mounts to 26 in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The swine flu death toll in Odisha mounted to 26 with two more persons succumbing to the viral infection today.

Two persons died while undergoing treatment at two private hospitals in the capital city, official sources said.

As many as 29 swab samples were tested today at the Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC) out of which 9 tested positive.

So far, 290 persons in the State have tested positive for H1N1 out 839 swab samples.

Meanwhile, swine flu has claimed over 1,000 lives so far this year, which is four times more than deaths recorded last year, with a total of 22,186 cases reported across the country till now, data from the Union health ministry revealed.
