Thunderstorm warning for these Odisha districts today

Bhubaneswar: The regional meteorological centre issued thunderstorm and lightning warning for several places in Odisha for today.

As per weather bulletin released by Bhubaneswar MeT, at least 23 districts are likely to experience thunderstorm today.

Isolated thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Puri, Khordha, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Bhadrak, Balasore, Jajpur, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Balangir, Nuapada, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam and Nayagarh today.

Such condition may last at these above mentioned places till tomorrow morning.

Meanwhile, a cyclonic circulation is likely to develop over Southeast Bay of Bengal tomorrow. Under its influence a low pressure area is likely to form over the same region around 07th May. It is likely to concentrate into a depression over Southeast Bay of Bengal on 08th May. Thereafter, it is likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm while moving nearly northwards towards central Bay of Bengal.
