Truck driver burnt alive as vehicle overturns in Odisha’s Sambalpur

Sambalpur: Driver of a truck was burnt to death after the vehicle turned turtle on Rairakhol-Naktideul road near Terabeda village in Odisha’s Sambalpur district, today.

The speeding truck overturned and then caught fire due to electrical short circuit, reports said.

The driver of the truck was unable to come out of the vehicle as he was burnt alive. Though locals tried to rescue him, but in van as he was stuck in the damaged vehicle.

The identity of the deceased was yet to be established.

On being informed, Fire Services personnel reached the spot and doused the flames.

Police have recovered the charred body for post-mortem and initiated an investigation.
