A division bench of Justice Reva Khetrapal and Justice Pratibha Rani posted the matter for Oct 16 after the counsel appearing for Gadkari and Kejriwal informed the court that they are trying to solve the issue amicably.

The court had earlier told the both leaders to “shake hands” and not to make it a “matter of ego”. It had asked them to consider solving the issue amicably and inform it of the outcome.

The court was hearing a habeas corpus petition filed by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Kejriwal for his release from jail after he was sent to judicial custody May 21 when he refused to furnish a bail bond in the defamation case filed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader.

Kejriwal has raised the issue that if a person appeared in pursuance to court summons and was accompanied by a lawyer, there was no need for the person to furnish a bail bond, especially when he was willing to give an undertaking.
