Two engineering students drown in Kuakhai river near Odisha capital

Bhubaneswar: In a tragic incident, two engineering students drowned while taking bath in Kuakhai river in Balianta area on the outskirts of Odisha capital today.

The deceased students have been identified as Smruti Sourav Pradhan of Tamando and Satyajit Das of Rengali, sources said.

The incident took place when the two students were taking bath in the river near Sai Mandir at Indrapal in Balianta area. The duo went missing after they were drifted into deep water due to strong current, sources said.

Later, the Fire Brigade personnel rescued the duo in a critical condition and rushed them to Capital Hospital, where doctors declared them dead on arrival.
