Two held in Odisha’s Berhampur for spreading COVID-19 misinformation

Berhampur: As many as two persons were today arrested in Odisha’s Berhampur for allegedly spreading misinformation about coronavirus in Badabazar area.

The accused have been identified as Subash Chandra Sahu (43) and Sudhakar Sahu (41), residents of Jaura Sahi.

As per police sources, the two were spreading false information regarding COVID-19 among shopkeepers in Badabazar and creating breach of peace in the area.  A case has been registered against the two under sections 107 and 113 of CrPC

In a similar incident, a youth of Badasingada village under Vikrampur police limits in Angul district was last night arrested for allegedly spreading misinformation on coronavirus.
