New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: Couple of hours after President Ram Nath Kovind administered oath of office and secrecy to as many as 43 new inductees into Prime Minister Narendra Modi government, portfolios were allocated to the newly sworn-in Union Ministers.
Mansukh Mandaviya was appointed as the Union Health Minister. The post was vacant after Dr Harsh Vardhan resigned as Union Health Minister earlier in the day. Mandaviya will also head Chemicals and Fertilizers Ministry.
Ashwini Vaishnaw was allocated Railways Ministry, IT and Communication Ministry portfolios. Also, he will head Minister of Electronics and Information Technology.
Dharmendra Pradhan was removed as the Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister. Pradhan was appointed as new Education Minister and Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
Hardeep Singh Puri was appointed as new Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas and Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs.
Piyush Goyal was appointed as Minister of Commerce and Industry; Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution; and Minister of Textiles.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be also in-charge of Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions; Department of Atomic Energy; Department of Space; all important policy issues; and all other portfolios not allocated to any Minister.
Amit Shah will head the Ministry of Cooperation, in addition to the Home Ministry.
Smriti Irani will be the Woman and Child Development Minister and also look after Swacch Bharat Mission.
Anurag Singh Thakur will take charge as Minister of Information and Broadcasting; and Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports.
Jyotiraditya Madhavrao Scindia was appointed as Union Minister for Civil Aviation. Kiren Rijiju Minister will head Law and Justice Ministry.
Pralhad Joshi will head Minister of Parliamentary Affairs; Minister of Coal; and Minister of Mines.
Narayan Tatu Rane was appointed as Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.
Sarbananda Sonowal was given charge of Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways; and Ministry of AYUSH.
Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi was appointed as Minister of Minority Affairs.
Dr. Virendra Kumar will head Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment.

Pashu Pati Kumar Paras was appointed as Minister of Food Processing Industries.
