Woman delivers baby at COVID hospital in Odisha

Jharsuguda: A woman undergoing treatment at a COVID hospital here has delivered a baby girl and condition of both the mother and the newborn is stable.  The woman was admitted to the hospital after her reports came out positive following an antigen test.

This is first such instance in the district and special attention is being given to both of them at the hospital. Jharsuguda ADM Pradeep Sahoo congratulated the doctors’ team for this.

Sources said the woman had come in contact with a previous positive case and she had undergone an antigen test on August 8. After her reports came out positive, he was immediately shifted to the Jharsuguda COVID Hospital. The district administration had made all necessary arrangements for the pregnant woman.

“She was kept is a special ward at the hospital and a separate team of doctor and nurses had been looking after her,”  said a hospital staff.

Last night, when she complained of labour pain, a special doctors’ team was engaged for her delivery.
