Youth kills mother for mere Rs 100 in Odisha

Baripada: A drunk youth beat his mother to death in inebriated condition after she denied him a mere Rs 100 to buy liquor.

The shocking incident has been reported from Hata Padia in Jasipur police limits in Mayurbhanj district.

Reportedly, Saroj Nayak came to the house in inebriated condition and asked his mother Salandi to give Rs 100 to buy liquor. An altercation erupted between the two after the woman refused to give him money. In a fit of rage, Saroj went on beating his mother with a wooden stick killing  her on the spot.

After committing the crime, the accused fled the spot. Later, locals called up police and informed about the incident.

A police team reached the spot and began a probe into the incident. Saroj’s elder brother Manoj said the accused creates nuisances in the family in inebriated condition frequently.

“I was outside with my uncle when I got a call from home. When I called my friends for an inquiry, they told me that Saroj thrashed my mother for Rs 100. When I reached my house, my mother was already dead,” he added.
