Bhubaneswar: COVID-19 claimed 28 more lives in Odisha as the toll in the state mounted to 2484. This is the highest-ever single-day COVID-19 toll in the state.
Khurda reported highest number of deaths as five more persons in the district succumbed to the virus.
The deceased include 3 from Angul, one from Gajapati, one from Ganjam, 4 from Kalahandi, 3 from Kendrapara, 5 from Khurda, 2 from Nabarangpur, one from Nuapada, 2 from Puri, 2 from Rayagada and 4 from Sundargarh.
As many as 12852 more persons tested positive for COVID-19 in Odisha during the last 24 hours as the state reported its highest-ever single-day spike in the infections.
Khurda district registered highest 1909 cases, followed by Cuttack (1073) and Angul (874).
A total of 67156 samples were tested in Odisha, yesterday.
With this, the number of active cases in Odisha surged to 111862.
