4 killed, four critical as truck hits SUV in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj

Baripada: At least 4 persons were killed and four others sustained critical injuries as a truck hit an SUV in which they were travelling at Bangiriposhi ghat in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district, this evening.

According to reports, an iron ore-laden truck was descending from the ghat when it collided with the ill-fated SUV killing four occupants of the vehicle.

Till last reports came in, the deceased were yet to be identified.

On being informed about the mishap, Fire Services personnel rushed to the spot and rescued the injured ones from the mangled SUV.

The victims were admitted to the Bangiriposhi hospital for treatment.

The accident and subsequent rescue operation affected movement of vehicles on the road.
