Western Odisha lawyers reach consensus on HC bench

The Central Action Committee (CAC) of the Western Odisha Lawyers’ Association today announced at a press conference here that it has arrived at a consensus over the location of the proposed High Court bench in western Odisha.

“Consensus over the location of the proposed High bench has been arrived and it will be revealed to the Chief Minister whenever he asks for it. An 11-member delegation of the CAC will visit New Delhi sometime in the second week of September to meet the concerned minister and discuss the issue with him. The decision on the location was unanimous with all members of the CAC and office bearers of 31 western Odisha Lawyers’ associations in attendance at today’s meeting. The location of the proposed High Court bench has been chosen in line with the recommendations of the Jaswant Singh Committee,” said Ashok Das, convener of CAC briefing the media at a press meet here.
