RoB mishap in Odisha: Train services resume after restoration

Balasore: Movement of several trains, which was affected after beam of an under-construction railway overbridge (RoB) fell on track at Sobharampur in Odisha’s Balasore district yesterday, resumed last night after restoration work.

One of the six beams used for the RoB fell down snapping a live electric wire besides delaying movement of several trains plying through the route. More than 150 workers and officials of Railways were engaged in the restoration process, which was completed around 11 pm.

The South Eastern Railway effected changes in the schedule of some trains due to the incident.

Here’re the rescheduled timings of the trains:

12278/12277 Puri- Howrah- Puri Shatabdi Express will remain cancelled both from Puri and Howrah on 30.12.19 due to abnormal late running of link train.

12839 HOWRAH-MGR CHENNAI CENTRAL HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED TO LEAVE HOWRAH AT 05.30 HRS ON 30.12.2019 INSTEAD OF 23.45 HRS ON 29/12/19 DUE TO ABNORMAL LATE RUNNING OF LINK RAKE GIRDER BRAKE DOWN BETWEEN NILGIRI ROAD-BALSORE IN KHRAGPUR DIVISION.

12839 Howrah-MGR Chennai Mail has been further re- rescheduled to leave Howrah at 12:15 hrs on 30.12.19 instead of it’s earlier rescheduled timings at 05:30 hrs on 30.12.19. The train was scheduled to leave Howrah at 23:45 on 29.12.19.
