Doctor, who tested Covid positive after inoculation, found to be negative for infection: RMRC

Bhubaneswar: The original sample of Dr S Suleiman, a retired doctor from Rourkela who took Covid vaccine but tested positive for the infection at Ispat General Hospital (IGH), was found to be Covid-19 negative during a retesting. This was informed by the Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC), Bhubaneswar that carried out the retesting of the doctor’s sample today.

The RMRC further said reports of all the tests of Suleiman have been found to be negative for Covid-19.

Yesterday, the RMRC said repeat RT-PCR test of the doctor at the medical research centre came negative for Covid. His antibody test at RMRC also showed presence of very high antibody.

Meanwhile, Additional Chief Secretary of Health and Family Welfare Department, PK Mohapatra today stated test report of Suleiman’s samples provided by the IGH was erroneous.

Worth mentioning, Suleiman, aged 71 years, was inoculated two doses of Covishield three weeks ago. But, his samples tested positive for wily COVID-19 virus through RT-PCR at IGH Rourkela.
