Covid upsurge: Apartment complex in Odisha Capital sealed for 10 days

Bhubaneswar: As multiple Covid positive cases were reported in Taru Apartments located at Tankapani Road here, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) today sealed the apartment complex for 10 days to contain further spread of the virus.

In an order, the BMC stated no one will be allowed to move into or out from the premises of Taru Apartments during the period of sealing. However, only authorized personnel of the municipal corporation will be allowed to enter the apartment premises during the 10 days. Essential items will be supplied to the residents of the apartment by the BMC officials.

The order further stated the Covid positive cases have been directed to remain in home isolation for 10 days, followed by seven days of self-monitored home quarantine.

If any positive case needs medical attention, the concerned person’s family members can intimate the BMC immediately, it stated.

Also, the BMC asked the apartment residents society to intimate it in case symptoms are observed in residents other than the already detected positive cases for testing and subsequent isolation.

The premises of Taru Apartments will be sanitised by the apartment residents’ society, the order stated.
