Bhubaneswar, Mar 11:
Senior BJD leader and the sitting MP from Koraput Jayaram Pangi said today he will not be contesting from any assembly or Lok Sabha seat in the ensuing polls.
He has reportedly requested the chief minister and BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik to look for a suitable candidate in his place.
Pangi said he took the decision because of his ill health. He was recently under treatment at the AIIMS New Delhi for a spinal cord complication.
However, sources in the BJD said Pangi’s unwillingness has a lot to do with the internal politics of the district unit of the party.
