GoAir launches daily flights for Odisha fliers

It’s great news for fliers in Odisha as GoAir, a low-fare airline, launched its daily flights from the Biju Patnaik domestic airport here today.

GoAirGoAir’s first flight from Bhubaneswar to New Delhi took off at 8.45 am today and its second flight for New Delhi is scheduled to depart from here at 7.25 pm to reach its destination at 9.50 pm.

While another flight of GoAir left for Mumbai at 11 am from here one more flight of the airlines will leave for Kolkata at 6.30 pm today.

The airlines’ operation was formally inaugurated by Sharad Kumar, director Bhubaneswar Airport.

Speaking to the media after the formal launching of the Go Air flight to New Delhi from here Bhubaneswar Airport director Sharad Kumar said “With GoAir’s operations travelers will have the choice of boarding flights as per their needs and requirements. Moreover passengers will have the benefit of competitive pricing along with operations of more number of flights”.

Kumar said with the launching of Go Air’s operations at Bhubaneswar Airport has increased to daily 40 flights which includes up and down flights.

He said at present Indigo has 22 flights, Air India and Alliance Air combined have 10 flights and now there will be eight flights by GoAir. As per domestic standards the number of operations from the airport is good, he added.

The director informed that efforts are on to rope in Air Asia, Vista Air and a few other airlines to operate flights from Bhubaneswar.

Commenting on the launch of GoAir’s operation from Bhubaneswar a lady passenger said “Increase in the frequency in the number of flights as well as destinations are certainly welcome. One has the option of choosing a flight timing that suits to his /her needs as well as catch a flight during emergencies. With more operations the customer becomes the king.”
