Alcohol sale hours relaxed in these Odisha cities

Bhubaneswar: The State government has relaxed liquor selling hours for the Indian Made Foreign Liquor ‘ON’ shops and bars operating in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Puri cities till 1 am of January 1, 2020.

In a letter to the Excise Commissioner, the Excise department’s Additional Secretary Tribikram Pradhan said selling hour for IMFL ‘ON’ shops and bars operating in Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation, Cuttack Municipal Corporation and Puri Municipality areas has been relaxed up to 1 AM of January 1, 2020 in public interest on the New Year Eve.

The government took the decision on basis of the powers conferred under Section 93 of Odisha Excise Act, 2008.
