AYUSH doctors to be trained on COVID-19 in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: In a new move towards combating COVID-19, the Odisha Government has decided to impart training to AYUSH personnel on novel coronavirus.

It has been decided that 1620 AYUSH personnel including doctors/PG/undergraduate students (final year & 3rd year)/SN/LTI/ANM will be imparted training on COVID-19 immediately. Odisha Health Department Secretary Nikunja Dhal has written a letter in this regard to all District Ayurveda Medical Officers (DAMOs) and District Homeopathic Medical Officers (DHMO).

Health and Family Welfare Department is developing training material for the same, official sources said.

“The DAMO/DHMO shall work as a wing officer, AYUSH under the administrative control of CDM & PHO and the entire AMO/HMO work force shall be assigned duties in healthcare institutions/quarantine centers or any appropriate place as decided by CDM & PHO in consultation with the Collector and DAMO/DHMO,” the official mentioned in the letter.
