“He is undergoing treatment in a hospital. He is suffering from an infection. His WBC count has gone up. We all are praying for his speedy recovery and would appeal to everybody not to disturb him for two-three days at least and pray for him,” Daljit Singh, son of Bhupinder told media persons here.

However, the state Congress leadership even today claimed to be clueless on the whereabouts of Bhupinder and reports of him tendering his resignation from the party.

“I had visited the official residence of Bhupinder, who is a friend to mine, but did not find him,” said former minister Prakash Debata.

Meanwhile, Bhakta Charan Das, the sitting MP from the Kalahandi Lok Sabha constituency, the seat Bhupinder is reportedly eyeing to contest, maintained that he had no problems with the Narla MLA.

“I don’t know if he has a problem, but I do not have any problem with him at all. In fact, I have helped him in every election,” Das said.

However, a local news channel claimed that Bhupindar is in touch with the central leadership of the Congress to bargain for the party ticket from Kalahandi parliamentary constituency.
