BJD to support NDA’s Vice President candidate Jagdeep Dhankar

Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) will support NDA’s Vice President candidate Jagdeep Dhankar.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today spoke to Odisha Chief Minister and BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik over telephone in this regard.

During the conversation, the PM sought the support of the party for Dhankar, sources said.

The BJD has already announced to support NDA’s presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu.

Notably, the NDA has fielded West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankar for the post of Vice President.

The last date for nominations for the post of Vice President is July 19 and the polls for the coveted post will be held on August 6.

Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu’s term ends on August 10.
