Bhubaneswar, Jan 13:

28-year old Nursing graduate Niharika Behera is crestfallen, not because burglars looted gold ornaments worth Rs 25,000, a laptop and an LCD TV among other things from her rented house in the city but because they decamped with  her most prized possession- a suitcase in which she had stored all her academic and professional certificates.burglary

” I care two hoots about losing the so-called valuables, I want my certificates without which I can not get a job anywhere,”, Niharika told the Khandagiri police while filing the FIR on the burglary that took place while she was away in Baleswar.

On Sunday morning, Niharika who stays in Plot No 267 at the AIIMS Nagar under Khandagiri police limits, had left for her home in Baleswar. She rushed back to Bhubaneswar this afternoon after one of her neighbours informed her that her house had been burgled.

Niharika’s greatest worry is that she will not be considered for a job she had applied for at the AIIMS because she does not have the all-important certificates any longer with her. She had quit her job as a nurse at the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack and moved to AIIMS Nagar here, only to try her luck with the AIIMS, Bhubaneswar.

” I am shattered. I really don’t know what to do now. Forget about getting a job, I will not  even be enlisted as a candidate because I do not have anything to prove my credentials,” Niharika told OST.

While Khandagiri police have begun their investigation, Niharika is praying that she gets back her certificates,  if not anything else.
