Cops attacked while raiding gambling den in Odisha’s Koraput

A team of Koraput police was attacked by villagers while the cops were raiding a gambling den at Borigumma in the district late last night.

According to reports, acting on a tip-off, a 15-member police team led by Borigumma SDPO decided to conduct raid on a gambling den at Gumuri village in Borigumma.

More than hundred villagers attacked the policemen after they reached the spot. Though some cops managed to escape from the spot, some were detained by the villagers and later released.

This apart, the villagers damaged two police vans, sources said. Police have lodged FIR against those involved in the attack.
