Councillor among 25 held in raid on gambling dens in Odisha’s Koraput

Jeypore: A Councillor of Jeypore Municipality in Odisha’s Koraput district and 24 others were arrested last night during raid on two gambling dens in the town.

The arrested councillor has been identified as Asutosh Santrapatra, councillor of ward number 21 in Jeypore Municipality.

According to reports, simultaneous raids were conducted at two places here– Surya Mahal and Gadia Dhoba Sahi. While 18 persons were arrested from Surya Mahal, seven were nabbed from Gadia Dhoba Sahi.

Police have seized around Rs 1.92 lakh, 8 vehicles and 18 mobile phones from their possession. A case has been registered into the incident.
