COVID-19: Odisha police issues stickers for emergency travel in Twin City

Bhubaneswar: To ensure that people with emergencies do not get obstructed by police personnel during the COVID-19 lockdown, the  Commissionerate Police today started issuing vehicle pass sticker to such commuters in the Twin City of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.

Persons commuting on roads to avail emergency services will be given the pass sticker with validity for one day. The cops will verify supporting documents before issuing the pass sticker. The sticker with ‘CHECKED’ written on it will be placed on the front portion of the vehicle.  Once the person gets the sticker placed on his/her vehicle , he /she will no more be intercepted by cops at checking points for the day.

The initiative is also aimed at ensuring social distancing during the COVID-19 lockdown.

Meanwhile, the state Government has opened a control room in the Home Department to monitor issues regarding implementation of the COVID-19 Lockdown. The control room will operate round-the-clock  from today.
